As an Appalachian American, who was born and raised in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, I know the amazing experience they have to offer. The deep seeded roots of family tradition, folk medicine, folk tales and country and bluegrass music resides in my blood and echoes in the hills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Gatlinburg also known to many as the gateway to approximately 520,000-acre Great Smoky Mountains National Park is beautiful. Not only does Gatlinburg offer the Ripley’s Museum of the Smokies but also is the home to the Ober amusement park. You can enjoy the skylift, skiing and so many more attractions.
Pigeon Forge takes the heritage of the Appalachian people and puts it on display with the Ole Smoky Distillery. This moonshine distillery offers tours can you can get an inside look at how proper moonshine is created.
What is even better is that Pigeon Forge also offers the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. This center is a way for the people of Appalachia to preserve their unique and folk filled heritage for years to come. The center offers educational programs, festivals and art galleries. You can feel like you are walking into the past by checking out some of the historical relics the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center has to offer.
